Helmets for Heroes

Helmets for Heroes unites all 32 NFL quarterbacks for one cause – pediatric cancer treatments and research. 

Bart wrote annual “kick off notes” to all starting quarterbacks at the beginning of each season when he retired. After his passing in 2019, Bart’s wife Cherry began to carry on his tradition in honor his legacy. Cherry passed away this February. Now, their son and granddaughter will continue the legacy of writing letters to all starting quarterbacks. These letters ask each quarterback to sign a team helmet for the Helmets for Heroes auction during one week of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month each September.
