Children’s of Alabama gets donation with an Alabama football connection
Children’s of Alabama recently received two grants totaling $60,000 from the Vince Lombardi Cancer Foundation’s Starr Children’s Fund.
The fund, dedicated to raising money for pediatric cancer research and treatments, was begun by former Alabama and NFL great Bart Starr and his wife Cherry. It is part of the Vince Lombardi Cancer Foundation, named after Starr’s professional coach, the Green Bay Hall-of-Famer who died in 1971 of colon cancer.
